No Borders Takes GRPVA to Brazil for Potential Prospects
For the second consecutive year, President Reinaldo Panico Peres was called by the Greater Richmond Partnership (GRPVA) to lead a delegation to Brazil that included its Senior Vice-President, Barry Matherly, and two other economic development authorities from the Richmond, VA, region. During the trip that occurred from March 22-29, the delegation visited the cities of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Campinas, and São José dos Campos. According to Peres, “even though adding São José dos Campos required some logistics maneuvering, it was well worthwhile since this area is the aviation and aerospace industries epicenter in Brazil, particularly, due to the presence of Embraer and the INPE (National Institute for Space Research). And, in turn, filled with advance manufacturing companies.” The group was focused on meeting with potential prospects that are looking to expand into the U.S. market. “We are very glad with another successful trip in partnership with the GRPVA”, said Peres, who will be back in Brazil for another mission trip in October, 2014.
